ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP)- Senate President Thomas V. Mike Miller says he will consider changing the membership of the Senate Finance Committee, if that is what is needed to get an offshore wind measure to the Senate for a full debate in the upcoming legislative session.

Miller said in an interview Tuesday with The Associated Press that he will first ask the panel's members if there have been any changes in their positions on the proposal backed by Gov. Martin O'Malley. The measure has failed the last two years, and Miller says the governor plans to try again.

A bill passed the House of Delegates last year.

Miller, D-Calvert, says he personally supports the idea overall with some qualifications. He says he believes the proposal deserves a debate in the session that begins next month.
