DOVER, Del. (AP/WBOC)- The Dover City Council has voted to rename streets surrounding Legislative Hall and Legislative Mall after Martin Luther King Jr.
In a 7-1 vote, the council approved the measure Monday night. The streets will be named on Jan. 21, the day King's birthday is celebrated.
A section of Court Street that approaches Legislative Hall from U.S. 13 and the two one-way street segments that bound Legislative Mall to the north and south will become Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
The addresses of three state-owned buildings will change. Installation of new signs is expected to cost about $5,400.
