YORK, Pa.– Wesley College's Paul Reynolds has been named the Capital Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Co-Player of the Week, it was announced by the league office on Monday afternoon. Reynolds shares the weekly honor with York's Julian Watson.
A native of Wilmington, Del., Reynolds averaged 19 points and five rebounds while leading the Wolverines to a pair of overtime victories and a Bridgewater College Don Glick Classic Title over the weekend. A graduate of Smyrna High School, Reynolds was subsequently named the Tournament's Most Valuable Player, the second time he has been named a Tournament MVP this season.
In an opening round win over Eastern Mennonite, Reynolds scored 14 points, but he really carried the Navy & White in a Championship Round victory over the host Eagles. Going for 24 points and five rebounds, Reynolds scored all six of Wesley's points in the overtime period, and 13 of the team's final 17 points.
Reynolds is not only one of the top players in the CAC, but one of the best in Wesley College history. He currently ranks fourth at Wesley with 1,456 points and fifth with 618 rebounds.
The Wolverines (7-4) have a busy schedule this week with a trio of home games. On Tuesday, Wesley hosts longtime rival Washington College at 4 pm, before taking on No. 1 Virginia Wesleyan on Thursday, December 20, at 4 pm. On Saturday, the Wolverines will take on Fisher College in a 2 pm tipoff.
