WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - State officials are marking a big milestone in the history of the Delaware Memorial Bridge.
Gov. Jack Markell planned to join representatives from the Delaware River and Bay Authority on Tuesday as the bridge handles its billionth toll transaction.
Markell and DRBA officials will present the driver with mementos and keepsakes to commemorate the milestone.
The bridge connects Delaware and New Jersey over the Delaware River and is dedicated to soldiers who died in World War II, the Korean War, Vietnam and Operation Desert Storm.
