BALTIMORE (AP)- A group of Maryland lawmakers is announcing a package of gun control bills.
The lawmakers, including state Sen. Brian Frosh, are acting after last week's mass shooting at an elementary school in Connecticut.
They will announce their legislative package at a news conference in Baltimore on Wednesday.
Frosh, a Montgomery County Democrat, is calling for legislation that would crack down on illicit gun sellers and restrict the availability of assault weapons. Gov. Martin O'Malley told reporters Tuesday that he also expects his administration to introduce bills to deal with gun violence, though he says he's not sure what such legislation would look like.
