DOVER, Del. (AP) - Gov. Jack Markell is asking Delawareans to join with the residents of Connecticut in observing a moment of silence in memory of the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.
Connecticut's governor named Friday to be a day of mourning and asked his fellow governors to observe a moment of silence as well.
So Markell is hoping Delawareans will join the moment of silence at 9:30 a.m. Friday to reflect on the lives that were lost can consider what Americans can do to prevent future tragedies.
Markell also suggested that churches and other institutions in Delaware with the ability to do so toll 26 chimes in memory of the victims.
