Brian Westbrook to Serve as Eagles Honorary Captain

Former running back Brian Westbrook will serve as the Eagles honorary captain this Sunday as they host the Washington Redskins in the team's home finale. Westbrook will join the captains during the coin toss pregame and be honored at halftime and interviewed on the Miller Lite Phlite Deck.

Westbrook played in 107 games for the Eagles after being drafted in the third round of the 2002 NFL Draft and holds the franchise record for scrimmage yards (9,785) and ranks third with 68 total touchdowns. A dual threat out of the backfield, he also ranks third in Eagles history with 5,995 rushing yards and with 426 receptions. He led the NFL and set the team's single-season record with 2,104 scrimmage yards in 2007.

Westbrook will be the team's final honorary captain of the season, concluding the second year of the program. Other alumni who served as honorary captains this season include: Jeremiah Trotter (Week 2), Ricky Watters (Week 6), Keith Byars (Week 8), Tommy McDonald (Week 10) and Ron Jaworski (Week 15). Brian Dawkins (number retirement), Troy Vincent (Eagles Hall of Fame) and Leo Carlin (Eagles Hall of Fame) were also honored this season.
