YORK, Pa.– Wesley College's David Langan has been named the Capital Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week, it was announced by the league office on Monday morning. This is the first time that Langan has ever received CAC weekly honors.
In leading the Wolverines to three victories last week, Langan averaged 16.3 points and 13.3 rebounds while shooting 63.3% from the field. A native of Sayreville, N.J., Langan posted back-to-back double-doubles to start the week, opening with a game-high 21 points, 15 rebounds and four block performance in an eight point win over longtime rival Washington College. Two days later, Langan was dominant in a 19 point, ten rebounds and three block effort in a victory over No. 1 Virginia Wesleyan.
To close out the week, Langan was a point shy from notching his fifth-straight double-double when he scored nine points to go with 15 rebounds in a blowout win over Fisher College.
Langan is currently having a career year in his junior season at Wesley. The six-foot-eight center is currently averaging a career-high 11.9 points while leading the CAC with a career-high 9.8 rebounds per game.
Wesley (10-4), which has won five straight games and six of its last seven, takes on Cabrini on Wednesday, January 2 at 5 pm, its final non-conference game of the 2012-13 season.
