Dog Reunited With Owner After Car Theft

WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - Wilmington police say a shih tzu has been reunited with its elderly owner after it went missing when her car was stolen.

The 77-year-old woman's car was stolen on Friday when she left the keys in the ignition during a brief stop at St. Anthony's Church. The vehicle was found Saturday but the dog wasn't there.

Police say it turns out the dog had been picked up by a family living in the area of the theft. The family turned the dog over to police on Monday after noticing news coverage of the incident.

Police say the woman was grateful to be reunited with her dog in time for Christmas. The dog's name is Noel.
