CLAYTON, Del.- Delaware State Police believe alcohol was a factor in a Thursday night crash that killed a man in Clayton.
Police said that shortly after 7 p.m., Robert R. Pizarro, 27, of Townsend was driving his car southbound on Daisey Road north of Millington Road when for unknown reasons, the vehicle traveled off the roadway and struck a ditch. The car continued into a wooded area where it hit several trees, according to investigators.
Troopers said Pizarro was not wearing a seat belt and died at the scene.
The DSP Collision Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate the crash, but preliminarily, police believe Pizarro had been drinking.
