Help for Hurricane Sandy Victims in Somerset County

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - People affected by Hurricane Sandy are now eligible for disaster supplemental nutrition assistance program benefits in Somerset County.

People who are not eligible under the regular SNAP rules may qualify temporarily for D-SNAP if their business, home or belongings were damaged during the storm.

Victims may apply for these benefits at the Somerset County Department of Social Services or the Disaster Recovery Center from Jan. 7-13.

The centers will accept DSNAP applications from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 1-5 p.m. Sunday in Somerset County.
