WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - The New Castle County Sheriff's Office says eight former homeowners have a total of $100,000 due to them after their homes were sold because of tax sales and a foreclosure.
Sheriff Trinidad Navarro says that the funds are excess proceeds from the sales, which took place over the past six months.
Navarro says there was money left over after the sales. But his department can't locate the former homeowners.
If the money is not claimed, it reverts to the state.
Anyone who thinks they might be owed money should call the county Sheriff's Office at 302-395-8450.
