BALTIMORE (AP)- State health officials say a second death from hypothermia has been confirmed in Maryland.

The Department of Health and Mental Hygiene said Wednesday that a woman 65 or older in Prince George's County had died from hypothermia. Officials said her death occurred earlier but the cause was not confirmed until this week.

The first death reported was that of a man 65 or older in Frederick County.

Fifteen hypothermia-related deaths occurred in Maryland during the 2011-2012 winter weather season.
