GREENBELT, Md. (AP) - A Maryland jail worker accused of failing to seek medical attention for an inmate found hanging by a sheet while in custody is expected to plead guilty in the case.
Forty-nine-year-old Anthony McIntosh is expected Friday in federal court in Greenbelt. The hearing is a rearraignment, which generally means the person will plead guilty to some or all charges.
McIntosh was working at the Prince George's County jail in June 2008, when he found 19-year-old Ronnie White hanging from a sheet in his cell. White had been charged with running over and killing a county police officer with a stolen car.
McIntosh was charged with two counts of destruction, alteration or falsification of records in a federal investigation. His trial was scheduled for next week.
