Princess Anne Police Recent Incident Reports

Editor's note: The following press releases were issued by the Princess Anne Department on Friday and detail police activity for late November and the month of December. They are published exactly as received:

Press Releases:

·   On 12-27-12, the Princess Anne Police Department responded to the area of Beckford Avenue and Nutters Lane in reference to an attempted murder. Investigation revealed that the two victims were seated in a parked vehicle when the suspects approached them and demanded money. The victims were able to flee from the area however in the process the suspects fired several rounds at the vehicle. Investigation continues and anyone with any information concerning this case is asked to call the Princess Anne Police Department.

·   On 12-25-12, the Princess Anne Police Department arrested Don Emanuel Hanna, 53, of Princess Anne Maryland in reference to an outstanding warrant. The warrant was a District Court Arrest Warrant for assault 2nd degree and other related charges. Hanna was also charged with possession of cds paraphernalia after his arrest. Hanna was seen by a District Court Commissioner who issued a $15,000.00 bond. Hanna was released into the custody of the Somerset County Detention Center.

·   On 12-25-12, the Princess Anne Police Department charged Andre Demetris Dennis, 38, of Princess Anne Maryland with panhandling. The incident occurred at the Goose Creek store located at 30293 Mt. Vernon Road. Dennis was found to be asking customers for money. Dennis was charged by criminal citation and was released from custody upon signing his citations.  

·   On 12-24-12, the Princess Anne Police Department responded to the Cienna store located at 12020 Somerset Avenue in reference to a vehicle crash. Investigation revealed that as a vehicle was backing out of a parking space, it collided with another vehicle that was traveling in the parking lot causing minor damage. No injuries were reported.

·   On 12-24-12, the Princess Anne Police Department arrested Michael Eugene Ballard, 30, of Princess Anne Maryland for an outstanding warrant. The warrant was a parole retake warrant. Ballard was released into the custody of the Eastern Correctional Institution.

·   On 12-22-12, the Princess Anne Police Department responded to the Talons Square South apartment complex in reference to a burglary. Investigation revealed that the suspect(s) entered the apartment and stole several electronic items. Incident remains under investigation.

·   On 12-22-12, the Princess Anne Police Department arrested Stan Marsell Schoolfield, 24, of Princess Anne Maryland for assault second degree. The arrest stemmed from an assault complaint at 30777 Division Street. Schoolfield was also charged with possession of cds and related charges. Schoolfield was seen by a District Court Commissioner who issued a $25,000.00 bond. Schoolfield was released into the custody of the Somerset County Detention Center.  

·   On 12-21-12, the Princess Anne Police Department responded to the Royal Farms store located at 30452 Mt Vernon Road in reference to a theft. Investigation revealed that the suspect stole several items from the store. The suspect was indentified and charges are pending.

 

·   On 12-19-12, the Princess Anne Police Department took a report of an assault that occurred at Price Cutters located at 11714 Somerset Avenue. Investigation revealed that the victim was confronted by the suspect and assaulted outside the store. The suspect was identified by the victim and the victim was referred to the District Court Commissioners Office for charges.

 

·   On 12-15-12, the Princess Anne Police Department responded to the Seton Center located at 30632 Hampden Avenue in reference to a theft. Investigation revealed that as juveniles were playing basketball one juvenile stole a cell phone from another juvenile. The suspect was identified and charges are pending through the Department of Juvenile Services.

 

·   On 12-14-12, the Princess Anne Police Department responded to 11502 Beckford Avenue in reference to a burglary. Investigation revealed that the suspect(s) entered the apartment and stole several items. Incident remains under investigation.

 

·   On 12-14-12, the Princess Anne Police Department arrested Rekik Tarekengn Tesema, 25, of Princess Anne Maryland in reference to a burglary investigation. The arrest stemmed from a burglary complaint at 11895 Somerset Avenue. Tesema was charged with burglary third and fourth degree and malicious destruction of property more than $500.00. Tesema was seen by a District Court Commissioner who issued a $20,000.00 bond. Tesema was released into the custody of the Somerset County Detention Center.  

·   On 12-13-12, the Princess Anne Police Department arrested Michael Devon Townsend, 22, of Princess Anne Maryland for fleeing and eluding. The arrest stemmed from an attempted traffic stop where Townsend failed to stop for the officer. A short chase ensued and once Townsend finally stopped he was placed under arrest for failure to stop for a stop sign, failure of driver to stop upon approach of an emergency / police vehicle, driving in excess of reasonable and prudent speed, driving vehicle on highway at speed exceeding limit, driving on highway without required license, and driver eluding police. Townsend was seen by a District Court Commissioner who issued an unsecured $10,000.00 bond.  

·   On 12-12-12, the Princess Anne Police Department responded to the intersection of UMES Boulevard and Somerset Avenue in reference to a vehicle crash. Investigation revealed that as a vehicle was crossing over UMES Boulevard after stopping for a stop sign, it collided with a vehicle traveling west on UMES Boulevard. The crash caused moderate damage and no injuries were reported. 

·   On 12-11-12, the Princess Anne Police Department responded to the Garland Hayward Youth Center located at 30660 Hampden Avenue in reference to malicious destruction of property. Investigation revealed that the suspect(s) had damaged a section of chain link fence that borders the property. Incident remains under investigation.  

·   On 12-8-12, the Princess Anne Police Department responded to the Talons Square South apartment complex located at 30515 UMES Boulevard in reference to a hit and run vehicle crash. Investigation revealed that between the hours of 5p.m. and 7p.m. on 12-8-12 the suspect's vehicle struck the victim's vehicle while it was parked in the complex. Incident remains under investigation.  

·   On 12-8-12, the Princess Anne Police Department responded to the intersection of Route 13 and Mt. Vernon Road in reference to a vehicle crash. Investigation revealed that as a vehicle was making a left turn from south bound Rt. 13 onto Mt. Vernon Road, it was struck by a vehicle traveling north on Rt. 13. The vehicle traveling north was found at fault since it did not stop for a red traffic signal. The crash caused moderate damage and no injuries were reported.

·   On 12-3-12, the Princess Anne Police Department responded to the area of 30599 Antioch Avenue in reference to an armed robbery. Investigation revealed that as the victim arrived to his residence, the suspects robbed the victim of his personal property. Incident remains under investigation.  

·   On 12-3-12, the Princess Anne Police Department took a report of a theft from motor vehicle that occurred on Pine Street. Investigation revealed that the suspect(s) stole several items from a parked vehicle including a handgun. Incident remains under investigation.  

·   On 12-2-12, the Princess Anne Police Department charged Takiara I Sequola Williams, 20, of Randallstown Maryland with underage possession of alcohol. Williams was found in a vehicle during a traffic stop with an open container of alcohol. Williams was issued a citation and released from the traffic stop. 

·   On 12-1-12, the Princess Anne Police Department responded to the Talon's Square South apartment complex in reference to malicious destruction of property. Investigation revealed that the suspect(s) had damaged a vehicle which was parked in the apartment complex parking lot.  

·   On 12-1-12, the Princess Anne Police Department responded to 11801 Beechwood Street in reference to a burglary. Investigation revealed that the suspect(s) entered an apartment and stole several items from the apartment. Incident remains under investigation.  

·   On 11-30-12, the Princess Anne Police Department arrested James Isaac Jones, 69, of Princess Anne Maryland for assault second degree. The arrest stemmed from a disturbance at 11666 Church Street. Jones was charged with two counts of assault second degree and reckless endangerment. Jones was seen by a District Court Commissioner who issued a $20,000.00 bond. Jones was released into the custody of the Somerset County Detention Center.
