Smyrna Teacher Charged in Alleged Sex With Student Case

SMYRNA, DE -   A Smyrna High School teacher has been charged with having an ongoing sexual relationship with a 15-year-old female student. Smyrna police say the arrest of 37-year-old, Donovan Garvin, followed an investigation that started Friday after the discovery of a cell phone containing communication between Garvin and the student. 

   
Garvin faces eleven charges, including allegations of sexual abuse of a child. The Smyrna School District superintendent says the teacher has been placed on leave. Garvin is being held on $780 thousand dollars bond.
