DOVER, Del.- This week the Dover Air Force Base hosted members of the local media for a tour of the facility and to take part in a training flight.

WBOC Kent County Bureau Director Mike Chesney went along for the ride in a C-17 Globemaster III. The trip took him and the other participants from Dover up to Maine. There, the C-17 met up with a tanker plane for refueling.

DAFB has 13 C-17s and 6 C-5Ms. They combine to provide almost 20 percent of the entire lift capability for the Air Force.

At the right side of the page, check out a slideshow from Chesney's flight aboard the C-17.
