DOVER, Del.- Delaware State Police say a 38-year-old woman died Monday of injuries she sustained late last month in a two-vehicle crash near Dover that claimed the life of another woman.
The victim is identified as Angela L. Francisco of Dover.
The crash occurred about 6:34 p.m. Christmas Eve on South State Street at Tall Pines Drive.
According to police, Francisco was driving a 2006 Nissan 350Z north when the car began to skid, crossed into the southbound lane and collided with a 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, driven by 63-year-old David L. Martin of Magnolia.
Both vehicles traveled south about 75 feet before coming to a stop near Tall Pines Drive.
Police said 54-year-old Carol Y. Reppond of Magnolia, who was a passenger in Martin's car, was not wearing a seat belt and died of injuries at Kent General Hospital.
Martin, who was restrained, was admitted to the hospital in serious condition.
Troopers said Francisco, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken to Kent General Hospital and later flown to Christiana Hospital, where she died.
A preliminary investigation suggests that alcohol was involved on the part of Francisco, according to investigators.
