WESTOVER, Md.- Police say two people are hospitalized following a Thursday morning two-vehicle collision at Sam Barnes Road and Route 13 in Somerset County.
The Somerset County Sheriff's Office said the driver of a box truck tried crossing over Route 13 and onto Sam Barnes Road when he struck a car heading southbound. The car's driver was flown by Maryland State Police Medevac helicopter to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore where he is listed in critical condition.
The car's passenger was taken by ambulance to Peninsula Regional Medical Center where she is listed in stable condition, according to police.
Deputies said the driver of the box truck was not injured.
Police, who have not yet released the victims' names, said the accident remains under investigation.
