EASTON, Md.- A joint police investigation has led to the arrest of a St. Michaels man on child porn charges.

Easton police said that on Jan. 10, detectives from the department, with the assistance of St. Michaels police, took 20-year-old Eric N. Sammons into custody on an arrest warrant charging him with 26 counts of possession of child pornography.

According to police, Sammons' arrest stemmed from a burglary investigation that got under way in August 2011, where he was identified as a suspect. Police said that search and seizure warrants were executed and with the assistance of the Department of Homeland Security, a large amount of videos and images of child pornography were recovered from the digital media seized.

Following his arrest on the aforementioned charges, Sammons was ordered held in the Talbot County Detention Center on a $75,000 bond.
