SEAFORD, Del.- Delaware State Police have arrested a 22-year-old Blades man and charged him with stealing guns from a Seaford home.
Troopers say they arrested William Hawkins on Thursday after a caller reported a suspicious person carrying a blanket with long guns inside. When troopers arrived they confronted Hawkins, who fit the description of the suspicious person, but he did not have a blanket or guns. Troopers let him leave.
Troopers then got a second call from the same person who said the suspicious person may have left the blanket and guns in the woods. A K9 helped locate the guns in the woods and troopers then arrested Hawkins at his home.
Troopers say Hawkins stole the weapons earlier Thursday. Hawkins did not have a listed telephone number.
