Va., Md. Reps Sponsor Forum on Voting Problems

Posted:

WOODBRIDGE, Va. (AP)- U.S. Reps. Gerry Connolly, D-Va., and Elijah Cummings, D-Md., are sponsoring a forum in Woodbridge to address the difficulties voters had casting their ballots in November's presidential elections.

The forum Monday will be held in Prince William County, where some voters reported waiting in lines of up to five hours to cast their ballots.

Voters caught up in those lines are expected to speak at the forum, along with elections officials and experts.

Connolly introduced legislation in the House to combat the problem that would encourage states to enact same-day registration, early voting and other reforms.
