CAMBRIDGE, Md.- The Cambridge City Council on Monday voted unanimously to adopt the "Fix Gun Checks Acts" legislation for the city. Mayor Victoria Jackson-Stanley said she hopes it sends a message.
"This is now the city of Cambridge contacting out state and federal legislatures and saying it's time for you guys to do something to help us help our community," she said.
The legislation is something the mayor found on the "Mayors Against Illegal Guns" website that she knew she wanted to adopt. She said eventually it will help heighten gun safety starting in her city but then hopefully the nation.
