








SALISBURY, MD - Seven seniors on the Salisbury University men's and women's swim teams competed in their final home meet on Saturday, as the Sea Gulls fell to St. Mary's (Md.) College, 137.5-67.5, on the men's side, and 161-44, on the women's side.
Sarah Ault, Staci Carbone, Christine Cook, Meghan Donovan, Sara Jacoby, Eric Robichaud and Paul Zoli were all honored, as a part of Senior Day, before the start of the meet for their contributions to Sea Gull swimming.
The meet began with the 400-meter medley relay. The women's team of Ault, Carbone, junior Julie Mstowski and sophomore Brittany Steele placed third with a time of 5:05.51, before the men's team of Robichaud, junior James Gough, sophomore Daniel Keller and freshman Will Gough finished in second (4:21.83).
The strong swimming continued two events later in the 200-meter freestyle, with freshman Nikki Schult leading the women with a second-place finish (2:20.21). Zoli followed with a second-place finish for the men (2:03.43). Schult, later, placed third in the 400-meter freestyle (5:00.53).
Robichaud and junior Chris Franklin led the men's team to it's strongest race of the day in the 50-meter freestyle; Franklin placed first (24.62), and Robichaud was close behind in second (26.17).
Zoli added another strong finish for the Gulls by tying for second in the 100-meter freestyle with at time of 56.98.
The women's team was led by Donovan and Ault. Ault placed third in the 200-meter butterfly (2:42.52), while Donovan placed third in the 200-meter individual medley (2:45.62), the 200-meter backstroke (2:41.64) and the 200-meter breaststroke (3:01.98).
The meet ended strongly, as the women's team of Ault, sophomore Melissa Alessandrini and freshmen, Andria Moyer and Kayla Wumer placed second in the 400-meter freestyle relay (4:35.36).
The men's team of Franklin, Robichaud, Zoli and sophomore Rich Ambrose placed first in the same event for the men (3:48.13).
The Sea Gulls now look forward to the Capital Athletic Conference championships during the weekend of Feb. 15-17 at St. Mary's (Md.) College.
