DOVER, Del. (AP/WBOC)- The advocacy group that won passage of same-sex civil unions in Delaware plans to make a major push for same-sex marriage in the state.

Equality Delaware is ramping up its campaign for full marriage equality with meetings in New Castle and Sussex counties. A meeting is set for Wednesday evening in Rehoboth Beach.

Wilmington attorney Lisa Goodman, who is president of Equality Delaware, says 2013 is the right time for same-sex marriage in the state.

Opponents say this is what they expected when the civil unions bill passed in 2011.

Gov. Jack Markell has said he supports legalizing gay marriage in Delaware and hinted at it in his inauguration speech this month.
