ACCOMACK, Va. -- For three months, what appears to be a serial arsonist has eluded authorities and set fire after fire across Virginia's Eastern Shore.
According to State Police, the latest fire on Thursday brings the total to 42.
At 9:40 p.m. police and fire personnel responded to the 3300 block of Boston Road in Pungoteague to yet another abandoned structure, this time residential, to find it ablaze.
Sgt. Michelle Anaya of the Virginia State Police said the scene was examined and ultimately determined to be arson.
The criminal investigation into who has been setting the fires since November is ongoing.
