Suspects Sought in Fatal Dover Apartment Complex Shooting

DOVER, Del.- An investigation is underway into a murder Friday night at the Whatcoat Village Apartments in Dover.  According to Dover Police, a group of people were sitting on the front steps of building 992 at approximately 11:24 p.m., when a dark-colored vehicle drove past them, made a U-turn and then stopped in front of the building. Police said the suspects within the vehicle then opened fire on the group before fleeing the area.

Police said 18-year-old Imeer Waddell of Dover was shot in the head and transported to Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, where he later died as a result of his injury. A second victim, a 19-year-old male, was reportedly shot in the right arm and treated and released.

According to police, a motive for this shooting remains unknown at this time, and the suspects remain on the loose.
