NEW CASTLE, Del. (AP) - Delaware State Police have charged three people with stealing central air-conditioning units from outside buildings in New Castle.
Troopers say the first thefts were reported Jan. 31, when employees at Buchi Corp. arrived at work and found four units missing.
On Saturday, a witness called 911 to report central air-conditioners were being stolen from the Hope Evangelistic Lutheran Church. Police saw a vehicle the witness described and pursued it into Wilmington, where it crashed into a utility pole.
Two of the three people in the vehicle were apprehended. Twenty-eight-year-old Kimberly Porter and 25-year-old Julio Roldan, both of New Castle, were arrested and charged with theft and other offenses.
A third suspect surrendered to troopers on Monday. Twenty-three-year-old Raymond Barlow of New Castle was charged with theft and other offenses.
