LAUREL, Del.- Delaware State Police have arrested a Berlin, Md., woman accused of raping a 14-year-old boy over a 10-month period.

Katheryn L. Carmean, 35, is charged with 10 counts of third-degree rape, continuous sexual abuse of a child and endangering the welfare of a child.

Police said Carmean's arrest stemmed from an investigation that got under way Wednesday, Feb. 6, when detectives were notified that the victim had disclosed to a family member that he had a sexual relationship with her.

According to investigators, the incidents reportedly occurred from November 2011 to August 2012, as the victim would periodically stay at Carmean's then-home near Laurel, Del. Police said Carmean, who recently moved to Maryland, was an acquaintance of the victim through a friendship with her son.

As a result of their investigation, detectives obtained a warrant for Carmean's arrest.  She was taken into custody Wednesday at her place of employment in Seaford, Del., and charged with the aforementioned offenses. She was ordered held in the Delores J. Baylor Women's Correctional Institution on $57,000 secured bond.
