CAMBRIDGE, Md.- Cambridge police have announced the arrest of the second suspect wanted in connection with last week's armed robbery and shooting that left a store clerk seriously injured.

Twenty-year-old William Albert Murray III of Hurlock was taken into custody Monday afternoon and charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder, two counts each of first- and second-degree assault, two counts of reckless endangerment, handgun on person, use of firearm in a felony/violent crime, armed robbery, robbery and theft less than $1,000. He is being held without bond in the Dorchester County Detention Center.

The crime reportedly happened shortly after 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, at the Quick Shop convenience store on Bayly Road. Police said Murray and 21-year-old Tashawn Jamar Murphy of Cambridge, both of whom were armed with handguns, entered the store and confronted the clerk at gunpoint. Investigators said Murphy then shot the female clerk three times before fleeing the store with an unknown amount of cash.

The victim, who is a mother of four, was taken to the University of of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore where she is listed in serious but stable condition.

Murphy was taken into custody on Friday and charged with the same offenses as Murray. He is also being held without bond in the DCHC.
