Milford Man Arrested for Punching Pregnant Woman

MILFORD, Del.- A 25-year-old Milford man is behind bars, after police said he physically assaulted a pregnant woman during a domestic dispute Tuesday.

According to police, the incident happened in the 100 block of North Street. After responding to the residence following a report of a domestic dispute, police said officers discovered 25-year-old Dwayne E. Fountain had punched the 36-year-old victim, who is 8-months pregnant, in the head and face numerous times, and held her down on the floor to prevent her from leaving or calling for help.

Fountain ran from the scene prior to police arrival. He was arrested Wednesday and charged with second-degree assault of a pregnant female victim and unlawful imprisonment." 

Fountain was arraigned and committed to SCI in default of $11,000 secured bond.

Police said no medical treatment was required or received by the victim.
