46th Fire in Accomack County, Likely Arson

Posted: Updated:

NELSONIA, Va.- Virginia State Police are investigating a structure fire that broke out late Sunday night on Route 13 in Nelsonia in Accomack County.

State police say the structure was an abandoned two story commercial building. The fire was discovered at around 11:30 p.m., which was shortly after it was started, so there was little damage to the structure.

No one was injured.

The fire is currently under investigation, and believed to be arson, according to state police.

The evening before, police were called to a fire that had occurred at around 7 o'clock on the 11100 block of Sand Street in Temperanceville.

Police said a storage barn was burnt to the ground and preliminary investigations reveal that it appears to be arson.

Police are reminding the public of the $5,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest of the person(s) who is committing this crime.
