Harrington Man Arrested for Burglary and Related Charges

HARRINGTON, Del.- A Harrington man is behind bars in connection with a weekend burglary.

On Sunday, Feb. 10, 21-year-old Ryan P. Lefort was arrested by Harrington police and charged with third-degree burglary, attempted theft under $1,500 and possession of burglar tools. 

According to police, officers on patrol were called to the 200 block of Franklin Street a report of someone looking into vehicles and garages with a flashlight. Police said that while responding to the scene, the officers observed the suspect enter a garage of a home on the 200 block of Hanley Street. Authorities said the officers entered the garage and caught Lefort as he was trying to flee. He was taken into custody without incident.

Inside the garage, officers said they observed a vehicle with the doors open and items that were removed from cabinets that Lefort was getting ready to take from the garage. 

Following his arrest on the aforementioned charges, Lefort was ordered held in the Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $6,000 secured bond.
