SMYRNA, Del. -

SMYRNA, Del.- Smyrna police say a routine traffic stop on Saturday night led to the arrest of a fugitive found to be in possession of drugs.

Investigators said 34-year-old Walter L. Lewis of 400 Baldwin Drive in Smyrna was placed under arrest after being pulled over at the intersection of Route 13 and Canwit Drive. Police said a search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of 7 grams of marijuana.

Lewis was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police released Lewis on those charges. However, Lewis was ordered held in the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center in default of a $7,000 secured bond for his fugitive status.
