OCEAN CITY, Md. (AP)- Maryland Rep. Andy Harris has scheduled a town hall this weekend to talk about Second Amendment rights and gun-safety issues.

The Republican congressman's office said Tuesday the town hall will be held on Saturday in Ocean City.

The congressman's office says Maryland Delegates Mike McDermott and Charles Otto also are scheduled to attend.

In Annapolis, lawmakers are considering a comprehensive gun-control measure supported by Democratic Gov. Martin O'Malley.

The measure would ban assault weapons, strengthen licensing requirements for handguns, increase school security and address mental health issues related to firearms access.
