Seaford Man Shot Grabbing Would-be Robber's Gun

SEAFORD, Del.- A 23-year-old Seaford man was shot in the hand when he tried to grab a would-be robber's handgun over the weekend, authorities said.

Seaford police said at around 6:45 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital where they met with a victim who had suffered a minor gunshot wound to his left hand.   

The victim told officers he was walking on Collins Avenue when an unknown male suspect wearing a hood approached him, displayed a handgun and demanded money. The victim stated he grabbed for the gun when he was shot in the hand. The suspect then ran away and the victim went to the hospital for treatment and was later released.
