National lender's co-founder and general counsel takes on expanded role

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Feb. 19, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Residential Finance Corporation, an award-winning nationwide mortgage lender, has named David Stein as president of its retail branch division. The appointment is an expansion of Stein's current role as general counsel. Stein is also a co-founder of Residential Finance, along with Chief Executive Officer Michael Isaacs. In his new role, Stein will lead the continued growth of the company's thriving branch presence throughout the country.  Residential Finance operates in 38 states with 60 branch locations.

Stein is a seasoned veteran in the mortgage business, and has significant experience in real estate, labor and employment law, as well as civil litigation. Previously, he practiced law for private firms in Ohio, and also was an adjunct professor of law at Ohio State University.  In his newly expanded role at Residential Finance, Stein will oversee the retail branch division's operations, including the legal, compliance, licensing, human resources and marketing functions.

He is a nationally recognized speaker on regulatory compliance and banking law and serves as a member of the Advisory Board of Lenders One, and as a task force member of the Mortgage Banking Association (MBA) committee on independent mortgage banking.
