GEORGETOWN, Del.- Delaware State Police have arrested a Sussex Technical High School staff member accused of sending sexually explicit text messages to a 17-year-old student.

Police said Sussex Tech administrators contacted detectives on Wednesday after an employee discovered that 36-year-old Stanley Daniel Zakrociemski, of Millsboro, had been sending inappropriate text messages to a 17-year-old female student. According to police, the text messages dated as far back as March of last year and continued until the employee found out about them earlier this week.

Investigators said the relationship between Zakrociemski and the teen, who turned 18 in December, never turned physical.

Zakrociemski turned himself in to police on Wednesday and was arrested on five counts of sexual solicitation of a child under 18. He is being held at Sussex Correctional Institution on a $100,000 secured bond.

Sussex County School District said in a statement Thursday that Zakrociemski, who was in his second year with the district as the sutdent youth activities coordinator, has been suspended with pay pending the completion of the investigation.
