Md. Lawmakers Commemorate Women's Suffrage March

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP)- The Maryland General Assembly will hold a joint session in honor of the 100th Anniversary of the Women's Suffrage March from New York to Washington, D.C.

Friday's event is being sponsored by the Women's Caucus, which includes 56 women from the House and Senate.

Women from both bodies will march into the Join Session to be held in the House Chambers.

Official say that Delegate Melony Griffith, D-Prince George's County, will sing the Star Spangled Banner.

The women lawmakers will also participate in an oral rendition of the march, underscoring Maryland's role in the women's journey.
