DENTON, Md.- Maryland State Police say a Denton teen has died from injuries sustained in a weekend crash.

Troopers said that at around 1 p.m. Saturday, they received a call to respond to a single vehicle crash with the vehicle overturned in the water with entrapment.

It happened on Shore Highway prior to Holly Road in Denton.

Both occupants were transported to Shock Trauma. Authorities said they learned that the driver, 26-year-old Bradley Nevin Lyons of Queenstown seemed to be in good condition.
However, his passenger, a 17-year-old girl from Denton, eventually succumbed to her injuries.

According to police, an investigation determined that the car was traveling at a high rate of speed. Alcohol is not considered a factor in the accident, which remains under investigation.
