For the third time in program history, the Wesley College men's
basketball team has earned a bid to the NCAA Division III Men's
The Wolverines will head to No. 7 Williams College in Williamstown, Mass., for the first round on Saturday, March 2. The winner between the Wolverines and Ephs will take on the winner of the No. 11 Catholic/College of Staten Island matchup on Saturday, March 9.
Wesley earned an at-large bid to the tournament after finishing 20-7 on the year and finishing as the runner up in the Capital Athletic Conference Tournament. Wesley's 20 wins are a record for the school at the Division III level, surpassing the 19 that were recorded in the 2009-10 season, which is also the last time the Wolverines earned a spot in the NCAA Tournament. Wesley's first bid came in the 2008-09 season after it won the CAC Tournament.
The Ephs of Williams College (23-4) earned an at-large berth after falling to Amherst College in the NESCAC Championship.
On the other side of the matchup is the Catholic University Cardinals, the Landmark Conference Champions, and the College of Staten Island Dolphins, the winners of the CUNYAC Championship.
The Wolverines' opponent in the CAC Championship game, St. Mary's (Md.) earned the conference's automatic bid after defeating the Wolverines, giving the conference two tournament qualifiers for the second-straight season, and third time in the last four years. The Seahawks host MIT in the opening round on March 2.
