SALISBURY, Md.- The Delmarva Shorebirds, class "A" affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, have announced that 14 fireworks shows have been scheduled for the upcoming 2013 season. The Shorebirds will illuminate the Eastern Shore skies with a fireworks after every Saturday home game and three special game dates. There will be at least two fireworks shows every month during the season.
For the first time since the 2010 season, the Shorebirds are scheduled to play at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium on July 4. Therefore, we've planned an extra special fireworks show presented by Preston Automotive Group following the game to celebrate Independence Day. It will be the biggest and brightest show of the season.
The first fireworks show, sponsored by Pohanka of Salisbury, is scheduled for Saturday, April 6 following the Shorebirds game against the Hagerstown Suns (Nationals). The second fireworks show, presented by WAWA, of the season is on Saturday, April 20.
The Shorebirds will launch two fireworks shows in May and four in the month of June. On Saturday, June 8, the Shorebirds will blast off a special show following the 6:35pm game presented by Mountaire Farms.
The Shorebirds have organized three fireworks shows in July including the big July 4 Independence Day Bash show presented by Preston Automotive Group. The final show of the month is scheduled for July 20 and is sponsored by Wor-Wic Community College.
The month of August will feature three fireworks shows. The last fireworks show comes at the tail end of the summer on August 17 following the game against the Lakewood BlueClaws (Phillies). The show will be powered by Robinson's Family of Businesses.
"Fireworks shows are our most popular promotion and we're excited that 20 percent of our home games will feature a postgame fireworks show this year," said Shorebirds general manager Chris Bitters. "I promise that the show on July 4th will be worth the price of admission and then some!"
The Shorebirds have scheduled fireworks shows on the dates listed below. The time in parentheses is the start time for the game. Fireworks shows begin immediately after the game, except for June 8 when the fireworks show will be preceded by a postgame concert.
Individual tickets will not go on sale until the third week of March. The only way to secure your seats for the fireworks shows now is by purchasing a Shorebirds ticket package. The Shorebirds offer Full Season Tickets (all 70 games), Half Season Tickets (35 games), a 22-Game Plan and a 12-Game Plan.
