Terps' Griffin Named ACC Offensive Player of the Week

GREENSBORO, N.C.– Maryland midfielder Brooke Griffin was named Atlantic Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Week Tuesday for her work in the Terps' victory against No. 4 Duke last weekend.

Griffin, a redshirt sophomore from Annapolis, Md., tallied a game-high five points on three goals and two assists to help the Terps remain perfect in 2013 and drop its second-consecutive top-five ranked opponent.

North Carolina junior attacker Abbey Friend and sophomore midfielder Margaret Corzel were tabbed co-offensive and defensive player of the week, respectively, after defeating No. 1 Northwestern last Friday.

Maryland travels to Virginia Friday for a 7 p.m. battle with the Cavaliers.
