2 More Arrests Made in Salisbury Armed Robbery

SALISBURY, Md.- Police have arrested two more suspects wanted in connection with an armed robbery and assault that occurred at a Salisbury home last weekend.

The Maryland State Apprehension Team on Thursday located and arrested 35-year-old Demetric Latroy Cooper and 18-year-old Tyrone Dashawn White, both of Salisbury. They are eached charged with armed robbery, robbery, first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and use of a deadly weapon with intent to injure. Both were turned over to the custody of Wicomico Central Booking.

The crime allegedly happened shortly after 11 p.m. Sunday at a home located on the 300 block of Carrolton Avenue. Salisbury police said the investigation into the incident revealed that several male suspects entered the home and assaulted the victim. According to police, one of the suspects beat the victim with a large stick and demanded his cash and clothing. The victim then took off some of his clothes prior to fleeing from the home and calling 9-1-1, police said. The victim is reported to have received minor head injuries from the assault.

Detectives investigating the incident said they found out that the robbery had been planned by two females residing at the home. According to police, the detectives learned that after the victim arrived at the home, the females notified the male suspects who showed up and committed the robbery. 

Detectives executed a search and seizure warrant and recovered evidence from the home, according to police. On Tuesday, they arrested the following suspects:

  • Tyrone Leatherbury Jr., 19, of Salisbury, was charged with armed robbery, robbery, first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and theft less than $100. He was ordered held in the Wicomico County Detention Center in lieu of $250,000 bond.
  • Ashia Zulkhea Johnson, 24, of Salisbury , was charged with armed robbery, robbery, conspiracy to commit first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and theft less than $100. She was ordered held in the WCDC in lieu of $55,000 bond.
  • Female juvenile, 15, of Salisbury, was charged with conspiracy to commit armed robbery, robbery, conspiracy to commit first- and second-degree assault and conspiracy to commit reckless endangerment. She was turned over to the custody of the Lower Eastern Shore Children's Center.  

Thursday's arrests of Cooper and White bring to five the number of arrests made so far with this investigation.
