NEWARK, Del. (AP) - Hailey Lawler says she wasn't expecting to become Miss Delaware Teen USA.

The Newark-area teen finished as the first runner-up, but was given the crown when 18-year-old Melissa King resigned after reports of a sex video surfaced.

Lawler says she is in complete shock. The Padua Academy senior says she wants to become involved in community volunteer efforts, particularly in special education and the Special Olympics. The 17-year-old Lawler says she also plans to attend St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia this fall to study elementary education.
