REHOBOTH BEACH, Del.- Delaware State Police detectives have arrested four people in connection with numerous thefts from vehicles in the Rehoboth Beach area.

Erin N. Jordan, 24, of Selbyvlle; Rodney B. Moss, 27, of Coconut Creek, Fla.; Javon A. Jackson, 24, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and Anthony O. Dixon, 24, of Lauderhill, Fla., are each facing a total of 92 charges ranging from third-degree burglary, felony theft, identity theft, forgery, conspiracy and resisting arrest.

According to police, the arrests stem from an investigation that got under way Feb. 1, when detectives out of Troop 4 in Georgetown began looking into numerous thefts from vehicles along the SR 1 corridor of Rehoboth Beach where checks and identification cards were taken.

Police said detectives were able to determine that the suspects were using the victims' IDs in order to cash checks that were written out to other victim names involved in these incidents.  Investigators said all the checks, which were written for more than $1,000, were cashed or attempted to be cashed at various banks in Anne Arundel County, Md.

Authorities said that on Monday, Feb. 25, a female attempted to cash a check at the County Bank in Georgetown.  When the teller determined the check was stolen, police said she returned to the drive-thru window to find the female had driven away. While investigating the incident, detectives said they were able to determine the female was Erin N. Jordan and by Wednesday, Feb. 27, were able to verify she was staying at the Econo Lodge in Rehoboth Beach. Detectives responded to the room in which she was staying and were able to take her into custody without incident.

Police said further investigation revealed there were three male suspects involved in these crimes that were also residing at the hotel. Troopers said that upon attempting to contact one of the males who exited the room, he quickly re-entered the room and locked the door.  Troopers on the exterior of the hotel said they then noticed the three suspects exit onto the balcony in an attempt to escape, but returned to the interior where they stayed for another 15 minutes before exiting the room and were taken into custody.

A search warrant was obtained on the suspects' room and vehicle and during the search of the car, police said a credit card was located that had been stolen from a vehicle the previous day.

Rodney B. Moss, Javon A. Jackson, and Anthony O. Dixon, where then transported back to Troop 4 where they, along with Erin Jordan, were charged with the aforementioned offenses.

Jordan was ordered held in the Delores J. Baylor Women's Correctional Institution on $46,500 cash bond. Moss, Jackson and Dixon were ordered held in the Sussex Correctional Institution on $139,500 cash bond each.
