3 Del. State Police Vehicles Damaged During Chase

NEWARK, Del. (AP)- Delaware State Police say they have arrested two people for a string of burglaries and that three police vehicles were damaged during the arrest.

Troopers said they arrested 26-year-old Andrew Long of Middletown and 26-year-old Ashley Jones of Wilmington on Friday at around 11:30 p.m. Troopers say the pair were wanted in connection with two residential burglaries in January and an attempted burglary in February.

On Friday troopers saw the pair getting into a car on Greenbridge Drive and parked in front of and behind the car.

Long, who was driving, hit the two State Police vehicles before fleeing in the car. The pair drove into Pennsylvania and back to Delaware before crashing into a State Police vehicle not involved in the chase. The pair were then arrested.
