DELMAR, Del.- Officials with the Delaware Division of Alcohol and Tobacco Enforcement say a raid on a Delmar bar has led to the owner's arrest for operating an illegal gambling establishment.

James F. Daley, 55, of Delmar, Del., is charged with possession of a gambling device and providing premises for gambling. 

Daley's arrest stemmed from a complaint DATE received alleging illegal gambling at the Sports Nut Restaurant and Pub on North Pennsylvania Avenue in Delmar. After receiving the complaint, DATE agents launched an undercover investigation of the business.

DATE said that during the investigation, DATE Agents discovered two gambling machines in the bar area and witnessed a patron playing a machine. On Saturday, March 2, when DATE executed a search warrant at the bar, agents said they uncovered two additional machines in a private smoking room located in the kitchen area. Patrons were playing these machines when agents arrived, authorities said. DATE said agents ultimately seized various financial records, four illegal gambling machines and $733 in cash.

Daley was taken into custody on the scene and charged with the aforementioned offenses. He was later released on $750 unsecured bond.

The investigation is ongoing and DATE anticipates additional arrests.
