Route 1 From Bethany Beach to Dewey Beach Closed

INDIAN RIVER INLET, Del.- Delaware Department of Transportation officials say Route 1 from Dewey Beach to Bethany Beach is closed due to water washing over the road.

Both the northbound and southbound lanes of the Indian River Inlet Bridge are also closed due to water washover at the base of the bridge. No damage has been reported to the structure.
