ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP)- Dr. Ben Carson, the renowned Johns Hopkins Hospital surgeon, says while people have been urging him to run for president, he doesn't aspire to run for office.
Carson, who spoke at a legislative prayer breakfast in Annapolis on Friday, made headlines last month when he spoke at the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington. In his speech, Carson criticized political correctness for stunting healthy debate.
An editorial in The Wall Street Journal after his speech ran with the headline "Ben Carson for President."
But in an interview Friday with The Associated Press, Carson said it would be tough for him to run, because "I don't believe in political correctness." Carson also said he doesn't believe in "getting into bed with special interest groups."
